Storyline
Long after leaving the Milky Way behind, an ambitious expedition known as the Andromeda Initiative arrives in a faraway galaxy in search of new worlds to call home. Among the hopeful colonists is Ryder, an inexperienced young explorer who awakens from centuries of cryosleep only to discover that the golden worlds promised to the settlers have become barren and dangerous. With the fledgling colony teetering on the brink of collapse and a hostile alien force called the Kett hunting the newcomers, Ryder is thrust into the pivotal role of Pathfinder, humanity's guide and last hope for a future among the stars. Traveling from planet to planet aboard the ship Tempest, Ryder recruits a diverse band of companions, brokers fragile alliances with native species, and probes the enigmatic ruins of the Remnant, a long vanished machine civilization.
